Group CounselingGroup counseling consists of small groups of children within the same or next grade level. These children are chosen to be part of a group based upon the topic. Students may sign up for a specific group, teachers or parents may refer, students or students may be chosen by the counselor. Typically, groups will meet during the lunch/recess hour, once a week, for a period of 6 weeks. Parents will be informed when their child is being asked to participate in a group via a parent permission letter and/or a phone call from the counselor.
Teacher/Parent ConsultationMaintaining a consistent partnership with both parents and teachers is extremely important for student success. As a means of developing new strategies to support student learning and growth, both parents and teachers can request a consultation. I will work with either the parent, the teacher or both to discuss ways to best support your student to make sure they reach their fullest potential at Burnt Mills!
